Sugar Creek Hollow Week 19 Summer Days

Happy Saturday Friends!!
This week the Challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is
Summer Days!
So if you have some time, come and play along.  We ask that along with the "Summer Days" theme, that your creations have a Vintage or Shabby Chic style.
We all know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gecko Galz!!  This month's digital collage sheets were just perfect for this challenge!  I used a Gecko Galz Mermaid digi stamp (yep..I colored it in GIMP),  The Seashell Frame (free collage sheet for signing up to the Gecko Galz newsletter, you will find it under the bathing beauty in the yellow swimsuit, left side bar of website) and The Vintage Beach Seaside Beauties (collage sheet).  I collaged all my pieces in GIMP.  Then used Inkscape to create my cut lines.  I used my Black Cat Cougar to cut out my die cut.

I distressed all my edges, and inked them with Ranger's Vintage Photo.  I added some of my favorite embellishments from Pro 31 Designs.
I have the Large and Small Ivory Mulberry Roses, Brown Blingy Bling Trim, ivory leaf trim and ivory pearl sprays. I also used some antique buttons from my stash!
I have the ivory drop bead pearl trim and golden rosette ribbon from Pro 31 Designs as well.  I used my Crop O dile to punch a whole in the front and back, and used some vintage seam binding from my win at Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge blog to tie my creation closed.
I would just love to spend my Summer Days Collecting Sea Shells with my Girlfriends!!  Doesn't that sound fun??  Then play with paper in the evening :0).  Here you get a pretty good look at the Gecko Galz Seashell frame, and The Mermaid (lower left, painted in GIMP).  I added another seashell to the mermaids hand, it came from the upper right part of the frame, I just made it littler in GIMP.  I have tutorials on how to use GIMP, it is a free image manipulation program.  I will have a tutorial up on youtube next week, showing how I colored in the mermaid, and created my collage.  You will see that I used GIMP to remove the background and flip the image of the seaside beauties, so they would look like they were standing, instead of leaning up against a wall.  I just love how this turned out!
I hope that you find some time to come and play with us at Sugar Creek Hollow this week!  I look forward to seeing your creations!!
Stop by Gecko Galz, Leanne is having a sale, Buy one Digital Stamp set, Get One free!!  Whoo Hooo!! How fabulous is that!!
I will be sharing my creation with
Make it Monday

Guest Designer at the Shabby Tea Room

Hello Friends!!
I am so excited to be a Guest Designer at
the Shabby Tea Room for July!
It is week #121 in the Tea Room and the theme is
"You're Invited" and we have this fabulous inspiration photo.
Here is an invitation that I made for you!!

I used GIMP to paint the tea pot, and cupcake images.  The cupcake stand, roses on the tea pot, tiny white flowers and leaves are all parts of images that I have altered from Karen the Graphics Fairy.  I used Inkscape to create the "You're invited to play in the Shabby Tea Room," text, outline and cut lines.  I then used my black cat cougar to cut the die cut out!
Of course I used my favorite embellishments from Pro 31 Designs to embellish my invitation.  I have pink and champagne (button flower centers) pearls.  Pink and ivory curly roses.  Ivory beaded sprays.  The fabby Pink seam binding I bought from Debbie at the Tea Room.  Below you can see the fabulous ivory drop bead trim that Esmeralda sent me as a gift (thank you), as well as my favorite May Arts green leaf trim.
I inked all my edges with Ranger's Old Paper distress inks.  I used an embossing folder to give my background piece more depth.  I also went over the raised areas with the Old paper, and distressed the edges with my scissors.
Here is what my die cuts looks like digitally, and separate.
I just love LOVE them both!!

I also created another little invitation for inspiration.
I kept it simple, using the same Pro 31 Designs Embellsihments and Seam Binding from Debbie.  I also used some liquid pearls by Ranger in Bisque, that way it still looks fabulous, but will be flat enough to fit in the envelope.
I did some doodling with my perfect medium pen and perfect pearls in perfect copper by Ranger.
Here is a look at the back of the invitation tag.
This time, I used GIMP to create my text and lines.  Punched a hole in the top of the tag with my Crop o Dile, and added a grommet.
Here is a look at the collage sheet.

I have created this into a collage sheet, here it is below.

Sugar Creek Hollow week 18

What a fun week we have in store for you at
This week we were each given an image from our Sponsor
Come play along with us.  Create a Vintage or Shabby Chic Creation that includes some "Vintage Children" and you will have a chance at winning a $10 Gift Certificate to Create with TLC that our sponsor has generously donated.  The winner will be chosen by Random Draw.  You will want to visit my Design Team sisters's blogs, we each have a different digi to play with!  You will be inspired :0)
I was given the image below which I painted in GIMP.
Those of you who have been following me know I don't have any girls, so I thought it would be fun to give the girls each a dress that looked like it was made from matching Calico Fabric.
I used a background that I created with an Image from the Graphic fairy and used it for all three girls dresses as well as the little doll laying on the floor.
I used two Graphic Fairy images, one for the picture on the wall (bluebirds) and the rose that is in the center of the plate (it is the same one I used for the dress pattern that I created).  I used some different brushes in Gimp (also available in photo shop) to create my pattern on the couch and floor (hard to see that one).
I printed out my image, distressed the edges with my scissors, then inked them with Ranger's Vintage Photo.  I place this on top of a piece of Graphic 45 paper that I measured out to be 1/2 inch larger than my image.  I used one of my favorite Spellbinder dies with a piece of the London Market papers from Pink Paislee.
My favorite Champagne flatback pearls from Pro 31 Designs adorn the edges of my card.  I used individual pink flatback pearls as well as someiridecent crystal bling trim to dress up my Rectangle die cut.  I place this piece with dimensional pop dots onto a dark red scrap of patterned scrapbook paper.
The Ivory Mulberry Rose is also from Pro 31 Designs.  The vintage seam binding is some I won from the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge blog.  The ivory crochet flower is from my stash, I just added the champagne pearl center.
One final look at the card.
Get going on your Shabby Chic or Vintage themed creations and don't forget to add some "Vintage Children" to play along with us at Sugar Creek Hollow this week!

I will be sharing this card with
