I was visiting Paper Issues to see what would motivate me today. Cassie had a link to another blog that had a challenge of using your favorite fall colors to create a Thank you card.
Here is what I came up with.
I started out visiting the Silhouette Store and bought a set of leaves file ($.99). Hard to believe that I didn't have any fall leaves! The acorn shape was one of the free downloads from the Silhouette store.
I used K &Company paper from the Ancestry.com line.

I picked two leaves and then played around with my Robo master program. I know there is the new Silhouette Studio program, but until I am able to use GSD files that I created with outlines of .jpgs...I will continue to use the old Robo master (images will open..but not the outlines). I wanted to make sure that my card would fit in an envelope I already had. So I cut a card down to the size I wanted...and designed a top sheet with Robo master that would incorporate the shape (outline) of the leaves. You can see what I came up with below.
The small piece in the upper left was part of a frame outline that came free with the Robo Master software. I simply made a rounded rectangle for my name. Here is what the pieces looked like after I did a little stamping.
I used my favorite background stamp that I hand carved along the edges of each piece. I used Ranger's Vintage Photo distress ink.
Here they are inked. I also used Rnager's Perfect medium pen and drew in some veins on the leaves...and applied copper colored Perfect pearls (sorry no picture..you can see it on the finished piece).
I used Rangers Vintage photo distress inks on the edges of all the pieces except the green sheet...I used Ranger's Peeled paint distress ink there. Started putting things together below.
Checked for placement to make sure that the leaves wouldn't be covering up my sentiment. The Acorn and tag were created using the "print and cut" feature of the Silhouette SD. I used natural card stock...looks like a paper bag...nice! Below you can see where I added some pop dots to the leaves...to add a little depth to my card.
Notice there is only one in the center of the maple leaf. I wanted it to only be raised in the middle...with the edges flat to the card. The whole other leaf will pop off the card except for the stem...which I glued down (other wise it might break off). So this is a good time to add glue to the edges..and tips...so it is easier to stick down on the card.
Here is the maple leaf...and it should make it easier to slide the card into and out of the envelope, since it is mostly flat. Next I placed the Oak (not really sure what kind it is) leaf on.
