Hello Friends!!
Welcome to my first post for Really Reasonable Ribbon. I am soooo excited!! I sure hope that you will come and link up to our "Winter Holiday and Ribbon Challenge" which starts today!!
I would like to share with you my
"Vintage Christmas Mitten Pocket Ornament!!"
Here is a photo of the front of my mitten pocket.
I created my mitten template in Inkscape. I then took my template and used GIMP to find where I wanted my mitten on the fabby Digital paper "chestnuts" from the Grandma's house digital paper pack from Gecko Galz.
Here is a close up of the fabulous trims and ribbons from
I used the sheer champagne ribbon, penelope lace, olive mini pom pom trim, peppermint baker's twine and candi (inked with fired brick distress ink). The red checkered patterned ribbon is from the November Ribbon Assortment. Below you can see how I used the Baker's twine to do my button hole stitching around my mitten edges :0) I just love how it turned out!!
I thought the Peppermint twine went really well with the Chestnuts digital paper. The baker's twine reminds me of some threads you might see on an old vintage Christmas sweater, and the the digital paper looked just like a vintage sweater pattern! So...there ya go...LOL. The Vintage boy sledding images is from the Winter TIme ephemera sheet from Gecko Galz, the Christmas Holly (at the top of my mitten) and the "Christmas Exhibition" ticket are images I created using Graphic Fairy images.
How about a look at the back.
I used Fired Brick and Vintage Photo distress inks to ink all the edges of my pieces, and I used some Candi foam pads to add some depth to my mitten. I also added some of the moss green leaves trim and white pom pom trims from RRR to the back.
The "Compliments of the Season" tag is from the Graphic's fairy (I just changed it to a red color in GIMP) and the Santa and little girl image is from the Old Fashioned Christmas Digital Collage sheet from Gecko Galz.
I am very happy with the Vintage feel of my Christmas Mitten Pocket Ornament!! Now I just need a few candy canes to stick inside of it, and it will look just darling on one of my many trees!!
For now some tissue paper and glittery snowflakes will work.
I hope this has inspired you to create a
Winter Holiday and Ribbon Creation, so you can come and link up with our challenge at RRR!!
(deadline is November 12th, at 11pm EST).
I look forward to your creations!!
