Hello Friends!!
Happy Friday!!
We have a Monochromatic Challenge going on over at the
Really Reasonable Ribbon blog starting today!!
All you have to do is create something in a monochrome color and add some ribbon!! Here is what I came up with.
I started out with an adorable little image that I got from my buddy Sandi (Maximum Embellishment). Now if you have been following my posts this week, you will know that Sandi has a pretty awesome challenge called "Christmas in the Bank." If you click on the link (her name and blog), you can read all about it. These are some more tags that I created for her challenge, in order to get me ready for Christmas later on this year!! Woooo Hooo!! Back to the image...LOL...you can find the original image on Sandi's blog here.
I used GIMP to extend the background up, I then found an image of a Christmas tree, and tucked it in behind the little kiddos. I also added some Christmas presents to the front of the photo. So now it looks like they are posing for the "Traditional Christmas Photo"...LOL.
Of course I created a Collage sheet for it. You will be able to create 4 tags, 2 large, 1 med and 1 small.

I used the same pieces in both tags, just put them in different places, and embellished them differently. Nice Sepia / brown monochrome going on. You will see that I used the Brown Sugar Baker's Twine, brown diagonal Stripe, juliet lace, and log brown seam binding all from Really Reasonable Ribbon as well as the candi fix it foam pads to elevate my pieces off the base of the tag.
Above is a close up of the bottom of the tag, and below is a photo of the bottom of the other tag.
Here is a close up of the top of the first tag....

Here is one last look at the tags together.
I hope these tags have inspired you to come and join our Monochromatic plus ribbon challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon as well as checking out my friend Sandi's challenge Christmas in the Bank!
Can't wait to see what you create!!

ReplyDeleteI'm loving that background tag and what you did to Sandi's image is wonderful! I actually saw this first thing this morning while laying in bed with my kindle and couldn't wait to get on the computer to get a better look! Love them!!!
ReplyDeleteBOLB Hugs!
These are beautiful. I don't know what gimp is, but the extended background with the tree is fabulous. I am visiting your friend's site to download the freebie. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMaravilhosas tags monocromáticas em tons chocolate....e a imagem é linda! Obrigada por compartilhar! Abraços!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful Heather, so clever to add the tree to the background too! I followed your link to Really Reasonable ribbon, gorgeous ribbons and really reasonable too. Glad you featured the Candi fix it foam too, that stuff looks great. ~Diane
ReplyDeletegreat tags, love the colours and the pearls.
ReplyDeleteThese are stunning! I love the vintage style, and the shades of brown are beautiful. A great idea to add the Christmas tree behind the children (I wouldn't know where to start!). Thanks for joining in with our Monochrome challenge over at the Craft-Room this fortnight.
