I used the white lace from this month's Ribbon Assortment, which I inked with Ranger's Frayed Burlap. I also added some vintage buttons and seed beads. I tied the top with a piece of my favorite Champagne Wrinkled ribbon. I used the Gecko Gal paper for the background of both the front and back of my rather large tag. I then used Gesso to lighten it a little. I colored in the mother's dress with a turquoise colored gelato a pink gelato was used to color in the paper's gown/blanket. I used paint to accent both images as well as glitter.
I added a Vintage Pink Seam Binding bow to the back of my image. I think it is the perfect touch for her dress. I used my Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue & Ultra fine Metal Tip to outline my leaves and many of the lines of the stamp drawing. I used
#230 Halo for her hair, #161 Palo Verde for the mother's dress, #162 Just Peachy for the baby's gown/blanket and #313 Bayou on the leaves and #165 Autumn dots around the outside of my tag. I LOVE the #313 Bayou and #165 Autumn glitters...they are two of my NEW Favs!! They are a GREAT MIX of color!!
I added many hand painted rose buds and leaves to my tag using folk art paints. Baby Pink and Lipstick red for the roses and Classic Green for the leaves and stems. I also used the same colors to paint the flowers on the mother's dress.
Across the bottom of my tag I added Juliet Lace and layered on some Pink Gingham. I glued some champagne seed beads to my gingham which was also inked with Ranger's Frayed burlap.
Here is a look at the other side. I used the same Gecko Galz Paper and a Flowers in my Garden Day for Daisies stamp. I painted the hair of both image with folk art Moon yellow and shaded with Raw Sienna (same colors on the yellow flowers below). When I was finished painting, I added a layer of Mod podge to both sides and then on the tag below I shaded around the outside with burnt umber paint...to give it an "old vintage look"...I did the same to the front of the tag...just using a very soft touch and the green paint. To keep things simple I used the same color glitters on this side.
I have the same Juliet Lace and Pink Gingham across the bottom with another vintage button and seed beads.
I added the perfect little Bay Leaf Seam Binding bow that I tied with my Bow it all tool.
Don't forget about the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge that we have going on right now too....

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning in true "Heather fashion." And two sides for double the vintage goodness! LOVE the hand painted rose buds, the bows on the backs of the dresses (great touch, that) and the soft coloring of the images. Both sides are true works of art!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a hard time trying to decide what to say about this tag! Both sides are quite beautiful! i love the rosebuds and leaves you painted on there, love the glittering you did.
