I finally had some time to finish a Mother's Day card. I did a "Double Stair Step" card inspired by the 365 Cards Challenge. I had never done a stair step card, and let me tell you...it is FUN! I was also inspired by the Paper Sundaes Challenge #65 Texture. I included some lace, dimension with liquid pearls. I created the bird, lace and doily to add to my card for the Shabby tea room Challenge. The papers I used came from this month's Swirlydoos Kit. I also have this linked up to Flutterbywednesdays challenge.
I had to make up my own measurements, so that I could fit the center piece which was from this sheet of the Gabrielle Line by Bo Bunny in my Swirldoos Kit.

I used the left center piece for the center of my card. The base of the card was made with this paper.
The butterfly on the left of my card came from this paper. It is the pinkish one at the top.
I used a punch by Ek Sucess to punch some pieces of trim from this sheet of paper.
I found my lovely vintage bird image from the Graphics Fairy.
Here is the original image.
Here are some close ups of the card.
I inked all the edges with Ranger's Vintage Photo. I distressed the edges of the main body of the card with my Distrez it all tool. The flowers were punched out of the light colored paper and painted with Delta acrylics in: Forest green, coral and spice brown.
I used the font called "Barouque Antique Script." I used my Silhouette Studio program to print and cut the bird, doily and words "love you and Mother." These also were inked with Ranger's vintage photo.
Here you can see part of the Dusty Attic piece I altered by painting and applying UTEE to just the rosebuds. I wanted the piece to look like shabby rosebuds in a basket. You can also see the fabulous Vintage blue bird frame I created with the images from the Graphics fairy. I used Liquid pearls in bisque to add a little embellishement to the circle frame, edges of paper, lace and Dusty Attic.
I was so excited about this card...I couldn't even wait for the glue to dry! You can see it behind the lace. I was going to use some larger beads from my Swirydoos kit, but I could not get them to stay one. The fab Butterfly trinket is from Bo Bunny and was part of my kit too. I also used some bling from this months kit for the flower centers.
Here is a close up of the DA piece that I painted. That fabulous doily like butterfly my good friend Carol from Bellas Creations made for me! Check out her blog at the link...to see her beautiful butterflies and flowers she creates! Fabulous! It is her Birthday this week too...so wish her a Happy Birthday!
One last photo of the finished piece.
Thank you so much for visiting!
