Hello Friends!!
I hope that everyone enjoyed their Holidays!!
This is our first week back at Sugar Creek Hollow, and this week we would like to see you use the theme of "Celebrating Something New" in your vintage or shabby chic style creations. It can be a new baby, new love, new job...you name it! Here is a picture of my project below.
I used some fabulous images from Gecko Galz. The Baby Mine collage sheets, and the Alter it collections (Bingo card). I did a lot of altering of the images with GIMP.
I used a blank card base, topped it with some patterned paper, next I used a page from an old book that my BFF Ginny gave me, and used one of my favorite spellbinder dies. I inked all my edges with Ranger's Vintage Photo distress ink. I embellished my card with the Aqua diamond ribbon, celery crochet lace, moss green leaves, Juliet lace, and Chocolate marshmallow candees and foam pads all from Really Reasonable Ribbon! Sorry about all the glue gun stragglers...I really need to start wearing my glasses...LOL.
I also used some ivory mulberry flowers, champagne pearls, vintage buttons and aqua blue seed beads from my stash.
As far as the altering of the images, I did all of that in GIMP. I changed the color of the bingo card, and used only 4 rows and got rid of the Bingo at the top (I decided to use the spellbinder die, so it didn't fit with the BINGO).
The "Baby Blocks" each had an animal with them, and were placed differently, so I had to re-create parts of the blocks and get rid of the other animals before I was able to place them horizontally. I really love how the overall feel of my card turned out!! Soft and Vintage...and a little shabby!
Since we are talking about celebrating something new....I have created a new blog background. I used the January Bit's and Pieces Collection for my images and my blog columns were created using the Star crossed Digi Paper pack from Gekco Galz.
I can't wait to see what you come up with this week, and don't forget to link up with us at
Thank you for visiting!!
Hugs!!
Heather
